Demolition of Paradise Fossil Plant Coal Wash Plant – Drakesboro, KY
TVA is decommissioning numerous assets as part of its enterprise-wide facilities management plan. The demolition planned for the active PAF facility included demolition of the obsolete Coal Wash Plant and numerous conveyor lines and transfer stations throughout the property.
Operations included dismantlement by crane, including a signature dual-crane removal of a long conveyor section. Mechanized demolition included high-reach and mid-reach excavator demolition, as well as engineered cable pulls.
10,500 net tons of metal scrap was recycled.
Project management include completion of site specific safety training for all staff, including subcontractor personnel, and implementation of a monitored Behavioral Based Safety program in which both SWC and client personnel participated.
