MidAmerica Airport had the need to dispose of a Lockheed C-141 Starlifter cargo plane at its facility.

Following demilitarization by others, SWC arranged for the bulk recycling of the aircraft, and quickly dismantled the aircraft utilizing one of its hydraulic shear attachments. Scrap material was loaded into gondola scrap trucks; approximately 98,500 lbs of scrap material were sent to a metals shredder for recycling. The aircraft’s tires were separated and sent to a tire recycler.
